How do I get my old password?

Passwords are stored in the website using one-way encryption which means no one will ever be able to view your password. Because It is not possible to retrieve your old password you are required to change it before you are able to log back in with your account. See below on "How do I chnage my password?"

How do I change my password?

If you are not logged in click 'Forgotten Password?' below the login menu. On the following page enter your user name in the box and click 'Send Email'. Within a few minutes you will receive an email containing a special link. Once you get this email open this link in your browser to view a page where you can change your password. Enter a new password in the box and click 'Change Password'. Once you have changed your password the link in the email is not longer usable and is garbage so delete the message.

If you are logged in click 'Personal Settings' at the bottom, and then 'Password' at the top. Enter your old password in the first box and then a new password in the next box (and once again to confirm), click 'Change Password' to commit the changes.

Note: This method of password storage is used to achieve the highest security measurements possible. Since your password is stored encrypted no one will ever be able to view it. However other websites and forums may not use the same measurements which can all

I am not receiving any emails from the website. What now?

This can happen for a number of reasons.

Maybe obvious to some, check to ensure the email address in your contact preferences is correct. You can view your email address from in 'Personal Settings' - 'Contact' or in your member profile when logged in. It's happened to the best of us. If you are using a free email account such as Hotmail, Yahoo or Netscape, please make sure you mailbox is not full. Also try loosening any spam mail filters you may be using on those accounts. Spam mail is usually placed directly into your trash or into another temporary folder. Many Internet Service Providers operate spam mail filters for their customers. From time to time (MA) mail ends up getting sorted as spam mail at your providers mailbox. When this happens the messages sent to you get rejected and the (MA) administrators receive your returned messages back informing us of the problem. Unfortunately there is now no method to inform you this is happening so we are forced to put all your emails on hold until we can discuss this with you verbally. Check with your provider to see if you can have the filtering removed or have them provide an alternate email address in which filtering is not applied.

I get emails telling me 'How to change your password'?

Someone has requested to change your password on the website. Don't Panic, this happens from time to time as the change password process is an open one. The system is working properly and you are the only one to receive this email so your password is still safe. You can simply ignore the message unless it happens repeatedly, at which time you should inform the (MA) administrators. Please include these messages with your email to the administrators as each email contains date and connection information of the person(s) making these illicit requests.

How do I change my forwarding email address?

If you are logged in click 'Personal Settings' - 'Contact'. In the first box enter your real email address where you would like to have all (MA) email forwarded to. You can change this as often as you like.

Note: This email address is used when changing your password. You email address should always be kept up to date to ensure you can receive this message if ever necessary. If you lose your password and your email address is incorrect you will not be able to receive an email to change your password and you will not be able to login to change the address. If this is the case you will have to contact a (MA) administrator to manually change your email address. Grumble... we cannot change your password, you will still have to do that yourself once you get your email corrected.

Tip: Some email providers allow you to append a string to your email address which you can use to track it's origin. Say for example that your email address is foo@bar.com. By entering foo+ma@bar.com as your real email address you will still receive all messages to foo@bar.com but containing the '+ma' in the address would indicate it's origin to you. Appending this to the address also makes automatic message filtering much easier to manage.

Can I make my contact information public?

Once logged in click 'Personal Settings' - 'Contact', click the 'No' on the button beside 'Contact Private' near the bottom of the page. This will make your ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, Aim, and Homepage information viewable to the public. By default this is only viewable to other (MA) members. Making this information private will still allow other (MA) members to view it.

Note: This website keeps your information private except to other (MA) members. The website does not reveal your email addresses unless this option is explicitly turned on. Your email address is kept hidden while you are are still able to contact from the website using a form mailer in the contact section. However there is no authenticity with form mail messages because any sender can easily impersonate another members name or signature. Do not trust form mail. In order to help refrain members from sending form mail it is disabled once a member is logged in and real email addresses are displayed instead.

Tip: Making this information public will invite spam from spiders that visit this website daily. Spiders are data mining computers that surf the net indexing pages in massive databases for legitimate services such as search engines as well as non legitimate services such as spam mail and tele-marketers. I suggested you keep your information private and give it out manually to those who ask.

Did you know?

Stuff that doesn't seem to fit anywhere else, but worthless unless someone else knows about it.

  • On most forms you can use alt-s to automatically submit the form, instead of clicking 'Save Changes' or 'Add New'. If there is more than one form on the page alt-s will function for whichever form that is focused. A focused form is one that has a blinking cursor in one of its elements. You can usually jump through each element by using tab or backwards using shift-tab.
  • You can quickly change the game type on any page by choosing the icons on the top right. You can also view all game types by clicking the logo on the top left.
