I changed my dt-t2 link to join the server last time the master was out. What is the proper target now that the masters are up?

Letter of Hard drive:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData\dt.exe -online
(You may have "Program files" before "Dynamix" as well)

Great times. Thanks everyone for showing up.
Would someone who did not get booted from the server on TWL maps please let me know which map packs you are using. Mine seem to have missing texture files. I Dl'd from the teamspeak link and from the MA files section. Still I was booted on certain (not all) TWL maps.
Thanks
Next PU in two weeks

Thanks Psydswipe;
Fafhrd linked me to the FinalTWL map pack. I dl'd that and now all the maps load fine.
Lets think about a theme for the next PU game. Perhaps something "presidential" in honor of Abe and George.
Maybe all maps that begin with "A" and "G?"

First, hi to Pysdswipe, an old teammate ===> do stop by the www.fellowshiptribe.com some day and say hi; we still all hang together as more as a social/friendship group; some of us game and we discuss thangs and help each other trouble-shoot and learn stuff...
Thanks for letting me play last nite at your Ground Hog eve event.... Sorry I didn't stay long but I am very rusty at T-2 since I am mainly a T:V player, I feel bad I can't carry my weight and be better in T-2...
The last time I played T-2 consistently and felt somewhat skilled was the 8 months prior to Tribes Vengeance debuting(Oct. 2004) so I was hoping I could ask some questions and maybe get some help..
Last nite and the other few times I have tried playing recently I feel like I move like molasses and my weapons seem to switch slowly and fire in a delayed way, and when I jet/jump, I initially feel like there is extra gravity... Now maybe this is just the difference between T-2 and T:V and if so, let me know...
Here's my specs on my new rig I built just 3 months ago and wonder if you have some tweaks that may help: Q6600, WinXP Pro, 4GBs DDR2 memory, 10,000rpm 150GB WD harddrive, 680i chipset Asus mobo, GTS8800 640MB Vid Card, Vantec 750W PSU, Audigy SE Sound Card, Zalman CNPS 9700 heatsink, along with 4 intake and 4 exhaust fans(so good cooling solution)...
I have maybe 27 processes running with nothing in the taskbar and after I enter T-2, I open the Task Manager and set the priority for Tribes.exe(under processes tab) to 'above normal' to better utilize my quad core...
I do have 7 or 8 old scripts that I brought over from my T-2 days, and really the only one I use is the 'Void Say' one but they are all still in my Scripts Portion of the game ==> would removing some of them help?? I know on your server you had these scripts blocked so I was wondering if them still existing did of did not matter??
My Sound setting is the low default one... My Textures, graphics and Vid settings are all mid-range with no AA, no pecipitation, minimal clouds, yadda, yadda ===> would it be better to run at higher settings cause the hardware and CPU can perform better??
Well, thanks for any input, help and tweaks, its appreciated..
BTW, I was in nXa through the final BEML Season of T:V and now game with RD... RD is hoping to garner some more attention in its players for T-2, so hopefully you will see more of us...

Hey CED, I thought that was you
Your problems sound more like network lag but I'm not that knowledgeable on these sorts of things. I don't think any in-game settings would be a problem with a computer that new. Maybe someone else will be able to help.

I would also DL adaware and/ or spybot and remove any spyware prior to playing each time.
If you haven't already, be sure that you and your T2 friends join our pickup mailing list here:
http://lists.matureasskickers.net/mailma...tribes2-pickups
We would love to get more and more players for these events.

I had the same sort of problem when I built my "new" system. It turns out that the computer out-runs the game with FPS. After a lot of messing around with it I tries setting the max FPS to screen refresh (60) and it has run smooth from that day on.
Quick and easy, give it a try.

I will give that a try, thanks...
EDIT: OK, I looked in several folders/files in T-2 and couldn't find where to do this; can you point me in the right direction or is this a setting I modify somewhere else?? My monitor is set a 60hz BTW..

Unless the monitor requires that you set it at 60 Hz, you may find it easier on the eyes to set it higher. I find that there's too much flicker unless I go to 85.
I think following Lock's advice, you'd then set the in-game FPS to match, 85 in my case. I don't think it's ever necessary to compute new frames faster than the display can present them.
